Dr. Dacia Napier was born in Guam and grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas. She has an undergraduate degree from Rice University and attended medical school at The University of Texas Houston. After graduating medical school, Dr. Napier moved to San Antonio to complete residency and fellowship training at the UT Health Science Center, where she later became Chief resident, and then Associate Professor. Ashley Vickers has been with Avestée for over a year now. She is a San Antonio native with a Bachelor’s degree in English from The University of the Incarnate Word, and is also a Registered Medical Assistant. Ashley has 10 years of experience in women’s health, ranging from front office, to medical assistant, to now office manager. Ashley’s ambition and passion for women’s health has been an essential part in the growth of Avestée.
Sherrill Godfrey has been with Avestée since the first day we opened our doors in April 2013. She has over 30 years of experience as a radiology technologist, and gets to practice what she loves every day- taking care of women. Her focus of interest the past 18 years has been mammography and bone densitometry, so Sherrill’s in-depth knowledge of mammography and DEXA make her the obvious choice to insure quality assurance for FDA regulations, maintaining ACR accreditation and all other aspects of the practice.
Dominique Villalobos has been in the radiology field for four years. She has an associate’s degree in Biology, and plans to attend school to become a radiologist technologist. Dominique has been with Avestée for over a year and loves working at the center. She appreciates “being around other working women that understand the flexibility needed to take care of our families.” Dominique looks forward to working at Avestée long-term, and growing professionally with the women she has the pleasure of working with daily.
Ashley Garcia has worked in radiology for the past ten years, in roles that include front desk, patient care administrator, medical records and office coordinator. She has an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and plans to return for her Bachelor’s degree. Ashley is a new member of the Avestée family and is excited to work within an intimate office setting.
Maria Rodriguez brings several years of customer service and insurance experience to Avestée. She loves being around working mothers, taking care of other women. It is Maria’s “goal to make sure you feel comfortable and know that the patient is our main priority.” Maria is a proud mother to two children, and has been married to her wonderful husband for 20 years.
Brenda Nall is the lead ultrasonographer at Avestee Women’s Imaging Center of Alamo Heights., bringing more than 25 years of experience to our team of sonographers. She has extensive experience and expertise in Women’s Imaging, Abdominal Imaging and Vascular Imaging, as well as Ultrasound guided Interventional Procedures.
Julia Barnes brings over 10 years of radiology experience to Avestée. She came to San Antonio January 2016, by way of Austin, and is “so pleased to be working at Avestée.” Over the past 10 years, Julia has worked with several different mammography units from various manufacturers. She says, "the equipment we use here is my favorite, because it provides more patient comfort, and a quicker overall exam.” She is happy to be a calming presence in the office, especially with patients who are afraid the mammogram may hurt. Sandra Chavez has worked as a radiological technologist and mammographer for over 19 years. She relocated to Boerne, TX in July 2015 after retiring from a major medical center in Houston, TX to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Soon after moving, Sandra began working for Avestée, and now thoroughly enjoys “being in the beautiful environment of the office and working with the wonderful breast specialists where patients are always the priority.”
Marie Escamilla has over 26 years combined experience in Radiology with the past 13 years specializing in Ultrasonography of the Breast. Both Diagnostic and Ultrasound Guided Interventional Procedures of the Breast are her passion, “I am very proud to be part of the Avestee Team. We share a passion and dedication to our patients and treat each one as our family member.”
Tanja Homas brings over 30 years of experience to Avestée. Her professional background includes being a Quality Control supervisor, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound, in addition to being a registered mammography technologist. Tanja loves working with “caring, hardworking women that cater to our patients and their specific needs.” As a breast cancer survivor, Tanja appreciates Avestée’s dedication in staying up-to-date on state of the art equipment and technology. Vanessa Meister brings over 16 years of knowledge and experience in the mammography field. She works part-time at Avestée so she can focus on her family, while still pursing her professional passion in women’s health. Vanessa says her “goal is to deliver quality imaging for the radiologist, while proving great patient care at the same time. Avestée provides a great atmosphere for not only the patients, but for the employees as well. I am extremely happy to be part of a team of women with the same passion for women’s imaging.”
